Weed Arrest Record Split
The Weed Police Department enforces city law around the clock. Dispatch answers 24 hours a day. But WPD is not the only agency that can generate a Weed arrest record. The Siskiyou County Sheriff's Office and the California Highway Patrol both work this turf. When WPD books someone into county custody, the jail creates its own separate artifact. A citation, a quick release, or another outcome means many Weed arrests never become county bookings.
Weed counted 2,862 residents at the April 1, 2020 Decennial Census. That ranks third among the county's cities. Geography alone tells you nothing about who made the arrest, though. A record can list Weed as a home address or arrest location while crediting the Sheriff or CHP as the agency. Read those fields carefully. Then ask whichever office actually created the record for a copy.
No Weed Name Arrest Log
Weed Police Department posts no named-person arrest log, daily bulletin, or mugshot feed on its public pages. What the department does offer is an annual report and a Facebook presence. An annual report rolls activity into statistics. Social posts are selective by nature. Neither works as a running roster of individuals. And their silence about any one event proves nothing about whether an arrest or booking happened.
So a person-level search shifts to the county level. Start with the Sheriff arrest route for the event itself. Use the incarcerated-person route for current custody. Turn to the WPD request form for a releasable city report. That order keeps a key distinction intact: city police document the enforcement action, while the Sheriff's Custody Division documents what happened at the jail.
Where Weed Busted Mugshots Appear
Go to official sources first. Siskiyou Citizen RIMS splits selected arrest events apart from current county custody. That helps you tell one from the other. What it does not promise is a photograph. No official photo policy guarantees a booking image in either public view. The software behind the portal can support a photo component, sure. But a blank field or a placeholder graphic settles nothing. It does not tell you whether Weed Police or the jail holds a releasable picture.
| Channel | Photo status | Authority | Best use |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sheriff arrests route | Unconfirmed | Official county | Selected arrest events over chosen dates |
| Sheriff custody route | Unconfirmed | Official county | People represented as currently incarcerated |
| WPD records form | Agency review applies | Official city | Request the city-created incident report |
| Sheriff GovQA | Agency review applies | Official county | Request booking data and the jail photograph |
| Siskiyou News | Text-led reports | Unofficial news | Weekly lead that includes Weed PD entries |
| Recently Booked | Mixed or unreliable | Unofficial aggregator | Countywide secondary lead, not a Weed roster |
| Mugshots.com | Often unavailable | Unofficial archive | Historical city filter through 2019 |
There is no Sheriff jail app. Citizen RIMS runs as a responsive web portal instead, and Sheriff social posts fall well short of a complete archive. VINE can send custody-event notifications where Siskiyou participates. What VINE will not hand you is the court disposition or any dependable Weed booking-photo record.
Weed Busted Booking Search
Start with a full name, a close event date, and your best guess at the agency. Then check whether the county entry names Weed Police Department, the Sheriff, or CHP. A Weed location alone does not settle it. Search the live county controls. Write down the dates you selected. Citizen RIMS arrived billed as a work in progress. So a no-result screen could mean delay, a spelling miss, an early release, a different county, or an event that never reached booking at all.
- Use the Sheriff arrests route to look for the event across a precise date range.
- Check the incarcerated-person route for current county custody.
- Call Siskiyou County Jail if the name match or custody status remains uncertain.
- Send WPD's form for the city report, using an incident number when available.
- Ask Sheriff Records for the booking record or photograph, then review any filed court case.
The Siskiyou County busted mugshots home page lays out the full county search treatment. Depending on configuration, the roster can expose fields like booking number, date, agency, location, bail, status, and charge rows. Those details cover jail intake and custody only.
Weed Police Arrest Records
The Weed Police administration page puts public-record requests and crime reporting under Police Support Services. Fill out the department's required Public Records Request Form. Include the person's full name, an approximate incident or arrest date, and an incident number if you have one. Ask for the specific releasable report. Protected or confidential portions may be withheld or redacted. The official Weed Police Department page for the city contact and request route appears in the successful manifest capture below.
Weed Police Department
550 Main Street
PO Box 470
Weed, CA 96094
Non-emergency: (530) 938-5000
Fax: (530) 938-5005
weedpd@ci.weed.ca.us
The city publishes no fixed fee or production timeline. So ask Police Support Services for an estimate before you commit. One more thing. If the item you need is the identification image taken at jail intake, WPD is the wrong custodian even though its officer made the arrest. File a separate, narrow Sheriff GovQA request for the booking record and the photograph.
Weed Busted Custody Route
Start narrow if you need a same-day answer. Pick one date for both the start and end of the Sheriff arrests route, when the live form allows it. Want several days at once? Widen the span. There is no fixed 24-hour, 48-hour, 72-hour, or weekly feed from the Sheriff, so note the exact dates you searched. No official publishing schedule or online retention period exists.
The incarcerated-person route shows people held in the county system right now. Someone released yesterday may vanish from that view even though the booking record still sits with the Sheriff. A citation or release can end custody without any follow-on entry. For present status, call the jail at (530) 842-8157. For an older Weed booking, file a date-bounded records request instead.
Once you open a county result, check the rows against each other. Full name, booking date, arresting agency, location, status, bail, and any enabled charge rows all help confirm a match. Which fields appear depends on how Siskiyou configured the system and how complete each record is. A blank photo box means no image was released. If the picture is what you need, ask Sheriff Records for that specific artifact and the reason for any redaction or withholding.
Note: Absence from a live custody view does not establish release details, sealing, or destruction of the underlying record.
Weed Arrest Court Follow-Up
A booking description is just shorthand. Prosecutors can chart a different course. They may file new counts, amend the originals, or decline the case entirely, and the court itself can dismiss or resolve the matter on its own terms. To see what actually happened, search the Siskiyou Superior Court case portal and read the register of actions. It lists public filings, arraignment, hearings, pleas, dismissal, judgment, and other events as they occur.
One caution about the portal. Its terms warn that electronically accessed information is not the official court record unless it carries electronic certification. Treat remote views as a pointer, not the final word. Also note that a court file keeps following a prosecution long after release. An active case does not mean anyone remains in jail. The two systems answer different questions: custody is temporary, while the docket tells the longer story.
Weed Busted News Reports
Siskiyou News is the county's only recurring booking blotter. That makes it the strongest secondary source for Weed. Its text reports, usually weekly, attribute their data to Sheriff booking records and include entries from Weed PD. Expect fields like booking and release times, agency, location, alleged charge, and bond. The reports lean on illustrative art rather than a gallery of booking photos. Like any unofficial outlet, they can lag, omit, or editorialize.
Other sites deserve lower confidence. Recently Booked sometimes carries Siskiyou County entries touching Weed, but it offers no clean city feed. Mugshots.com has a Weed filter, yet its visible years stop at 2019. Treat it as historical. Busted Newspaper, Arrests.org, and Mugshots.zone showed no verified Siskiyou section. To bridge from a report to official booking and court sources, use the county's Crime News & Mugshots page.
A news recap works best as a pointer. Use it to pin down a date or booking number. Then verify backward with WPD or Sheriff records and forward with the court case. Skip the mocking tone of older coverage, and never assume a listed charge stayed the same.
Regional outlets will sometimes cover a major Weed arrest from an agency release, but none runs a regular city booking section. One agency-supplied photo in a single story does not add up to a mugshot practice. The county museum's newspaper-search tools lead to recent NewsBank issues and older library holdings, not a live custody feed.
